Day 1 Irkutsk
Arrival in irkutsk in the morning. Meet at the railway station accompanied by our driver and transfer to the hotel. Check-in to the hotel. Shower/rest. Enjoy a 2-hour city tour by car. It starts at the historical part of the city: Epiphany Cathedral, the oldest stone-structure Church of our Saviour and the only Catholic Cathedral in Irkutsk, Polish Roman Catholic Church. The tour leads you through the Kirov Square and circus. You'll have a ride along the main street of Irkutsk, the Karl Marks Street, to get to the Angara river embankment, where you'll see the monument to Alexander III. Complete the tour with the visit to the district of historic wooden buildings. Free time. Overnight.
Day 2 Listvyanka (B)
Breakfast. Car transfer to the village situated only 60km away from Irkutsk - Listvyanka. A bus tour around Listvyanka on arrival. Tour to a local Baikal museum that has a set of aquariums. There is one with the only mammal representative, the Baikal Seal, in it. Walk up to a nearby view point. There you'll get a chance to take panoramic pictures of Baikal from above. Enjoy your visit to a local 19th century wooden St.Nicolas church and a local fish market where you'll see a great variety of fish. Check-in to a guesthouse. Free time. Overnight.
Day 3 Circum-Baikal Railway (B, L)
Breakfast. This is a circular route hike which starts and ends in Listvyanka. Cross the source of the Angara River on a ferry to Port Baikal. You'll walk along the lake and the Circum Baikal Railway up to the first or second tunnel. On the shore the guide will cook a delicious lunch on a camp-fire for you. Return back to Listvyanka. Overnight.
Day 4 Listvyanka/Irkutsk (B)
Breakfast. Transfer to Irkutsk. On the way
visit an open-air wooden architecture museum Taltsy. In the museum you'll see the settlements of
indigenous Siberian people of 17th-20th centuries. Some of the buildings presented in the museum were
brought there from the villages that were flooded after building a dam in Irkutsk. Check-in to the hotel in Irkutsk. Free time. Overnight.
Day 5 Olkhon Island (B)
Breakfast. Transfer to Khuzhir village on Olkhon Island by car. It takes about 5-6 hours. Khuzhir is the main village of the Island with the population of 1500 people. Check-in to a hotel in the afternoon. Shower/rest. Enjoy the sunset on the Shaman cape near the Khuzhir village. Overnight.
Day 6 Olkhon Island (B, L)
Breakfast. A day long private trip to the northern part of the Olkhon Island by car. Visit to the highlights of the island, such as Peschanaya Bay, Sagaan Khushun cape and the mysterious Khoboi cape. You'll be taken to the best view points of Olkhon Island where the guide will introduce you to legends that this place holds. Enjoy lunch cooked by your guide on a camp fire. Return to the village. Overnight.
Day 7 Irkutsk (B)
Breakfast. Check-out from the hotel. Transfer to Irkutsk. Check-in to the hotel. Free time. Overnight.
Day 8 Irkutsk (B)
Breakfast. Check-out from the hotel. End of the program.
