Day 1: Moscow
Arrive in Moscow. Transfer to the hotel. Overnight.
Day 2: Moscow (B)
Our half-day panoramic bus tour of Moscow gives you an overview of the most important sights in the city including: the University of Moscow, the Bolshoi Theater, and the Olympic Stadium. We continue on to the impressive Red Square where you'll see the St. Basil's Cathedral with its vividly painted onion domes, Lenin's Tomb, and the famous department store GUM.
During the tour a special visit to the Park of Fallen Idols can be included, where you will see the unique collection of monuments from the Soviet period which were removed from their pedestals during the coup of 1991; monuments to Stalin, the KGB Chairman Dzerzhinsky and many other different sights. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 3: Moscow (B)
Free day to explore the city by yourself or order one of the optional tours.
Day 4: Moscow (B)
Free morning in the city. Check-out from the hotel. Transfer to the railway station at noon. Take a Trans-Siberian train #16/60 at 16:38 (local time) towards Ekaterinburg.
Day 5: Ekaterinburg
Arrival in Ekaterinburg in the evening. Transfer to the hotel. Overnight.
Day 6: Ekaterinburg (BL)
Today you'll have an excursion out of the city (15 km.) to The Monastery dedicated to the Romanov's Tsar family, on the place where bolsheviks tried to hide Romanov's corpses in a secret grave. On the way to the border-line you will see The Memorial of Victims of GULAG and make a short stop there. Few minute drive and you reach The Main Obelisk Between Europe & Asia. You cross the borderline and get a Special Certificate with a glass of sparkling wine.
Continue with a sightseeing tour around Ekaterinburg. On this city tour our guide will lead you through central streets and through the historic center of the city and show some original samples of the old machinery on the Historical Square. There will be an opportunity to visit the splendid Church of Spilled Blood at the Romanovs' Death Site and the Chapel of St. Elizabeth. You will observe beautiful views of Ekaterinburg and the City Pond from an embankment and from the Hill of Ascension. The sorrowful Afghanistan memorial at the Square of Red Army, gorgeous villas of Urals gold merchants of 19th century and monumental buildings in Stalin's neoclassicism style are to survey, too. Overnight in Ekaterinburg.
Day 7
Transfer to the railway station in the morning to catch the train #20 at 03:40 (local time) and head towards Irkutsk.
Day 8
You will spend Day 8 on the train interacting with other fellow-travelers.
Day 9: Irkutsk/Listvyanka (BL)
Arrival in Irkutsk in the morning. Car transfer to the village situated only 60km away from Irkutsk - Listvyanka. Early check-in to the hotel. Breakfast. Shower/rest. Guided tour to a local Baikal museum that has a set of aquariums. There is one with the only mammal representative, the Baikal Seal, in it. Take a chairlift to a nearby view point. There you'll get a chance to take panoramic pictures of Baikal from above. Lunch with Baikal cuisine. Enjoy your visit to a local 19th century wooden St. Nicholas church and a local fish market where you'll see a great variety of fish. Free time. Overnight.
Day 10: Listvyanka (BL)
Trip to an open-air wooden architecture museum Taltsy passing one of the highlights of Listvyanka, Shaman Rock. In the museum you'll see the settlements of indigenous Siberian people. Most of the buildings presented in the museum were built in the 17th-20th centuries and were brought there from the villages that were flooded after building hydro-electric dams in Irkutsk region. Lunch at the local Siberian restaurant. Enjoy your banya (Russian sauna) in the evening. Overnight in Listvyanka.
Day 11: Irkutsk (B)
Transfer to Irkutsk. Enjoy a 2-hour city tour by car. It starts at the historic part of the city: Epiphany Cathedral, the oldest stone-structure Church of our Saviour and the only Catholic Cathedral in Irkutsk, Polish Roman Catholic Church. The tour leads you through the Kirov Square and circus, taking you to the main street of Irkutsk, the Karl Marks Street. You'll ride along the street to get to the Angara river embankment, where you'll see the monument to Alexander III. Complete the tour with the visit to the district of historic wooden buildings. Check-in to the hotel. Overnight.
Day 12 (B)
Transfer to the train station in the morning to catch the train #4 at 08:06 (local time). You'll spend Day 12 on the train to Ulan-Bator enjoying the scenery along the railroad.
Day 13: Ulan-Bator (BD)
Arrival at Ulan-Bator at 06:50 (local time). Transfer to the hotel for the short refreshment break, shower and breakfast.
Today we will have a city sightseeing tour. We will go to the Gandan monastery - the center of Mongolian Buddhism, and join the monks for the morning prayer. After that we will go to visit the National History Museum, which holds a permanent exhibition on the different civilizations that have inhabited the territory of Mongolia from prehistoric times to the present. We will walk a little in the center of the city to get to know the life of this modern city. We will have a few hours exploring the Black Market. This huge market contains every single item a Mongolian might need, whether they are nomads or urban apartment dwellers. Goods brought from all corners of Mongolia are here for sale. A visit to the market is a colorful experience which gives the visitor an insight to the everyday life of the people of Ulan-Bator. In the evening a traditional concert. In the evening you will enjoy dinner, followed by a night visit to the Zaisan hill, where you will enjoy the view of the entire city at night. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 14: Ger camp (BLD)
Breakfast. Free time until check-out. Departure to Gorki-Terelj National Park. The park features unique rock formations, scenic valleys, a winding river, and restful groves of trees. Many nomads live in the park where they find good grazing for their animals. We will have a little tour in the park and visit such rocks as The Turtle rock and Monk reading a book. We will visit the Aryabal meditation center located in the mountains to learn about Mongolian Buddhism. Overnight at the ger.
Day 15: Ulan-Bator (BL)
Free time relaxing in the morning. After breakfast we will visit nomadic families and take the opportunity to learn about their unique way of life. Return to the ger camp. After lunch at the ger you'll be transferred back to Ulan-Bator.
Day 16: Ulan-Bator (BD)
In the afternoon we will see the 40 meters Chinggis Khan statue that was completed in 2008 on the bank of the Tuul River. We will climb to the top of the statue, and will enjoy the marvelous landscape of the wide steppes surrounding it. Evening arrival to Ulan-Bator and transfer to the hotel. Farewell dinner.
Day 17: Ulan-Bator (B)
Transfer to the railway station in the morning to catch the train #24 to Beijing at 07:30 (local time).
Day 18: Beijing (LD)
Arrival in Beijing at 14:35 (local time). Transfer to the hotel. Visit to the biggest public square in the world, Tiananmen Square that conquers you with its grandeur at the first sight. Then you'll head to the Forbidden City. It was the imperial palace for 24 emperors during Ming and Qing Dynasties and is the biggest ancient architecture complex in the world. You'll walk in the museum to see it with your eyes, to touch it with your hands and to feel it in your hearts. Dinner at a local Chinese restaurant. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 19: Beijing (BD)
In the morning drive 75km to visit the Great Wall (Badaling Section) which is the symbol of China and the wisdom of Chinese people. It is very impressive that the Chinese succeeded in building such a great architecture with simple tools in ancient times. Then visit Ming Tombs (Changling Tomb) consisting of 13 tombs of the emperors of the Ming Dynasty after the capital was moved from Nanjing to Beijing. This is the only palace that was made of camphor wood. Dinner at a local Chinese Restaurant. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 20: Beijing (B)
Breakfast. Check-out and transfer to the airport.
